Aspergillus infections usually appear after inhaling the Aspergillus spores that are found in the environment. They appear mainly in neutropenic patients (after anticancer treatment) and in patients treated with immunosuppressants (organ transplants, particularly after bone marrow transplantation) and corticosteroids.
At present, the determination of soluble galactomannan antigen is recommended by the EORTC/MSG Consensus Group as one of the mycological criteria for the diagnosis of invasive aspergillosis.
The FungiXpert Kit allows a quantitative result to be obtained quickly and easily, thus showing the the infection evolution and the effectiveness of the treatment.
Early detection: 6 days before onset of clinical symptoms and 10 days before diagnosis.
