Welcome to the RBC-NGStype Workshop by our provider Inno-Train Diagnostik.
Set within the context of the ISBT Congress (International Society of Blood Transfusion) in Barcelona that took place last June 2024, this workshop offers the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the current state of the field of blood group genotyping, as well as the innovative RBC-NGSType® solution developed by Inno-Train Diagnostik for blood group genotyping using Next Generation Sequencing.
The workshop is divided into four sessions:
- Welcome.
In this initial session, Dr. Stephan Jacobs (Director of International Sales at Inno-Train) welcomes us to the Workshop with a brief introduction about the speakers who will accompany us in the following sessions and the evolution of the company.
- Smart RBC Genotyping with Phenotypes.
In this session, Sabine Scholz (Product Manager at Inno-train) presents the latest developments in the Fluogene product line for TaqMan probe-based genotyping.
- Molecular Diagnostics of Human Blood Groups – in the Past, Now and Then.
Prof. Christoph Gassner (Professor, Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein and RCIBGT ISBT Working Party Co-Chair) provides an interesting overview of the evolution of molecular diagnostics of blood groups throughout history.
- RBC-NGSType® – A Game Changer in Transfusion Medicine.
Finally, Dr. Jan Konietzka (Product Manager at Inno-train) addresses the utility of NGS in blood group genotyping and presents the first available solution based on this technology, RBC-NGSType®, including a live demonstration of its analysis solution.
