Platinum® and Platinum® Pro

Single-molecule protein sequencing platforms by Quantum-Si

Platinum® and Platinum® Pro, developed by Quantum-Si, are innovative protein sequencing platforms based on single molecule technology. Designed for research laboratories, this comprehensive solution allows direct and easy preparation, sequencing and analysis of proteins, without the need for advanced bioinformatics knowledge.

Clinical and research applications include protein and variant identification, post-translational modification (PTM) analysis, antibody characterization, protein barcoding and biomarker searching. Its direct focus on proteins avoids the need for inferences from genomic or transcriptomic data, providing a more accurate view of the actual protein state.

How does it work?

The principle of operation of Platinum® and Platinum® Pro is based on the individual sequencing of peptides attached by Lys-C to the wells of the sequencing chip. Using aminopeptidases that successively cleave the N-terminal amino acids (NAA), the system captures the fluorescent signal emitted during each recognizer binding event. This signal generates a kinetic signature specific to each amino acid, which allows it to be identified. The process is repeated until the peptide is completely sequenced. The data obtained are automatically transferred to the Platinum analysis software, which provides results at the individual molecule level, facilitating a clear and accurate interpretation.
