Narcolepsy is a chronic neurological disorder caused by autoimmune destruction of hypocretin-producing neurons inhibiting the brain's ability to regulate sleep-wake cycles normally.
About 98% of the narcoleptic patients have HLA haplotype: DRB1*15:01 - DQB1*06:02 - DQA1*01:02, being HLA-DQB1*06:02 the most significant marker.
Domino System Narcolepsy kit is designed for detecting HLA alleles involved in Narcolepsy disease by PCR and gel analysis using allele-specific primers.
Specificities detected: DRB1*15, DQB1*06:02, DQA1*01:02, DRB5.
