RocGene iFIND®

iFIND® is an automated system for the detection and analysis of nucleic acids, based on microfluidic technology in a closed cartridge with preloaded lyophilized reagents. It is designed to offer an automated workflow from sample introduction to result acquisition, simplifying molecular diagnostics compared to conventional methods.

Detailed Description

Operating Principle

iFIND® integrates into a single automated system a closed microfluidic cartridge with preloaded lyophilized reagents. The process combines 7 functions in 1: enrichment, nucleic acid extraction, nucleic acid purification, liquid handling, mixing, amplification, and analysis.
Operating Principle iFIND

Clinical Applications

Applications in pathogen detection for infectious diseases, drug resistance genes, and fungal genes:

Identification of Tuberculosis and resistance to rifampicin, isoniazid, and fluoroquinolones. Identification of nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM). Fungal infections such as Candida and invasive fungi. HAI and other infectious diseases: ESKAPE panel, carbapenem resistance genes, and Staphylococcus aureus / MRSA. Gastrointestinal infections, with panels for viruses, bacteria, foodborne pathogens, and Clostridioides difficile. Respiratory, including SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory viruses. Tropical diseases: Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya, and Hantavirus.

Benefits

iFIND® simplifies the process and reduces the operational complexity of traditional molecular diagnostics, allowing automated results to be obtained from the simple introduction of the sample into the preloaded cartridge and starting the equipment. The independent modular design allows the simultaneous performance of different assays, reducing turnaround times.
Benefits iFIND

Technology Used

Nucleic acid extraction and purification by automated ultrasonication, chemical treatment, and automated purification by microfiltration membrane adsorption. After the nested PCR reaction, the system detects 6-channel fluorescence and performs melting curve analysis.

Target Audience/User

Clinical laboratories or departments, emergency services, outpatient care, and hospitals

Key Aspects
