Multiplex qualitative real‑time PCR kit for the diagnosis of STDs
Multiplex qualitative real‑time PCR kit for the rapid and specific diagnosis of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), capable of detecting and differentiating 10 clinically relevant pathogens (including bacteria, viruses and parasites) from urine samples or genital, oropharyngeal or anal swabs.
Product description
The STD-Finder® 2SMART kit is a high‑complexity qualitative in vitro diagnostic test designed to aid in the rapid and accurate diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), one of the leading causes of morbidity and long‑term complications (such as infertility) in sexually active individuals. Its multiplex capacity allows co‑amplification of up to 10 key pathogens and variants of high epidemiological relevance in a single reaction. The kit workflow consists of an initial pre‑amplification step followed by two 2SMART reactions with automated readout via melting curve analysis, offering a rapid, sensitive and highly robust screening and confirmation method.

Key advantages and features
Advanced differential and clinical diagnosis: Simultaneously identifies 10 critical pathogens and specifically detects highly significant variants such as the mosaic penA gene in N. gonorrhoeae and the Lymphogranuloma Venereum (LGV) variant of C. trachomatis.
Excellent sample compatibility: Clinically validated for use with urine samples and clinical swabs (vaginal, oropharyngeal, anal and rectal swabs).
Validated DNA extraction: Optimised isolation protocols both automated using NuclisENS® easyMAG® and manual with the QIAamp® DNA Blood kit (QIAGEN).
Rigorous quality control: Includes an M13 bacteriophage internal control (IC) to monitor extraction and inhibition, plus specific amplification controls (AC) and positive controls (PC).
Professional Use: Designed and optimised under certified quality systems for exclusive use by professionals in clinical and microbiological research laboratories.
